As part of activities to mark end of the year, Chairman Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Teina Abdulmalik has enjoined Christians to always love one another and show kindness to one another during the yuletide period.
The chairman, who was represented by the Director Account of the Security Trust Fund, Idris Ibrahim, made this known, while distributing food stuffs to inmates in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital.
According to him, Christmas is a time to show kindness to one another and to provide for the less privilege, hence the distribution of food stuffs to inmates to celebrate Christmas just like every other person out there.
He urged Christians to use this special occasion, which commemorates the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, to show love and kindness to one another through sacrificial giving.
The chairman particularly admonished them on the need to share whatever they have with their neighbours especially the less privileged ones and the downtrodden who might not have anything to celebrate with on this occasion.
He equally urged the Christians to use the occasion of this year’s Christmas celebration to pray to God to put an end to all the security and economic challenges bedeviling the country.
“The year 2020 has been an eventful year, a year where uncertainty was hanging over every dreams and aspirations but at end of it all we are alive to see the end of the year and we came out of it strong. I think we have every reason to thank God for his mercies,” he said.
Responding on behalf of the inmates, Kogi State comptroller correctional services, Ahmed Musa commended the chairman for his show of love praying to God to increase him in wisdom and understanding.
