It was demonstration of tremendous joy as residents of Ayede community, in Bunu district of Kabba/Bunu local government area rolled out drums and gongs yesterday, 8th of August, 2018 to celebrate the completion and lighting of the electricity project of the community.
The electricity project was completed through the kind and philanthropic effort of Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole, who generously in April 2018 released a whopping sum of N2 million to the contractor handling the Ayede- Ilogun-Olle- Igbo communities electrification project to enable him complete the project. The project has been unduly delayed due to paucity of fund. The benefiting communities had approached the people’s Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole for financial assistance for the speedy completion of the project. In the habitual manner of Kolawole, he obliged their request by immediately donating #2 million for the project with a charge to the contractor to light up the communities before 6 months.
Mr Wemi Jones(FCIB), a front line House of Representatives aspirant who also hails from the community had earlier in 2014 mobilised a few industrious sons and daughters of the community to raise about 2 million naira for the project. The resources mobilised was however unable to complete the project which informed it’s delay till now. The fund raised was however used for the purchase of accessories, some length of electric cables used within Ayede community.
The visibly elated residents were full of praises to God and Prince Kolawole for coming to the aid of the community. They wish Kolawole well in his endeavors.
It would be recalled that on the same date Kolawole donated the N2 Million naira for the completion of the electricity project, Kolawole also laid the foundation of a N100 million worth of cottage hospital to cater for the health needs of the people around the area. The project is currently near roofing stage.
