Buhari campaigner for 2019, Dr Ugbedeojo Paul Ebije has commended Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State and his Chief of Staff Edward Onoja for their efforts in Haruna Isah’s victory in the just concluded Lokoja/Kogi Federal Constituency bye election.
Dr Ebije who made this statement in a telephone conversation with our correspondent in Lokoja on Tuesday, said the victory of Honorable Haruna Isah of the All Progressive Congress was made possible due to the achievements of the State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello in the State in the last two and half years.
Dr Ebije, who is also a House of Representative aspirant for Idah Federal Constituency, noted that the assistance rendered by Honorable Onoja the Governor’s Chief of Staff also helped in no small way in bringing victory for the part at the poll.
“Before the emergence of the Governor, Kogi people who were unsecured due to insecurity are now safe. The citizens of the State can now move freely and sleep at night with both eyes closed.
“The security measures put in place by Governor Bello were so efficient to the extent that the State which was serving as safe haven for notorious kidnappers, assassin’s, armed robbers and ritualists have become hell for them,” the House of Rep aspirant explained.
Dr Ebije further noted that the youth and women of the State who were hitherto indifferent about politics due to maladministration of the past are now comfortable with Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration because of the succour they have enjoyed under him due to good governance.
The Buhari campaigner also called on the people of his constituency and the State in general to support President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello in the forthcoming general election so that they can consolidate on their achievements.
“The massive infrastructural development that is going on in the country under the Muhammadu Buhari led administration is unprecedented. Never in the history of this country have we seen the simultaneous laying of standard guage rail line on the east and the western flanks. This is because the president as a bastion of economic development understands that without multimodal transport system, development for the country would be a mirage.
“Talking about the achievement of this administration, it could take us a whole day; should we talk about the treasury single account? The fight against corruption? The disbursement of 2 trillion naira for capital expenditures? We can’t talk about them all because they are too numerous,” Ebije said.
Dr Ebije advised his people to give congnisance to effective and efficient leadership that Governor Bello has brought to bear instead of aligning with tribal warlords and chauvinists who had brought the entire state to its kneels developmentally.
“Apart from security Bello has sanitized the civil service, he has taken development to the rural dwellers through agricultural revolution, we must vote for him in 2019,” he noted.
