I am writing to bring to your attention a deeply distressing incident that has shaken our community and demands immediate attention. It pertains to the gruesome murder of Aisha, a Physically Challenged Woman and a loving mother of three, who tragically lost her life on the 7th of June 2023 in her shop located in Obehira Okene LGA, Kogi State.

According to eyewitness accounts, Aisha was brutally attacked by her boyfriend in her shop at approximately 6 a.m. The assailant forcibly dragged her from the inner chamber and mercilessly stabbed her multiple times until she succumbed to her injuries. This heinous act was witnessed by individuals present at the scene, who can provide vital information to aid in the investigation and apprehension of the suspect.

It is deeply alarming that despite Aisha’s previous reports of a lingering issue with her boyfriend, which were brought to the attention of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and the community head, no satisfactory resolution was reached. This tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the urgent need for effective intervention in domestic disputes and the safeguarding of vulnerable individuals within our society.

In light of these circumstances, I implore your esteemed department and other relevant security agencies to launch a thorough investigation into Aisha’s murder. I urge you to leave no stone unturned in identifying and apprehending the suspect responsible for this heinous crime. Additionally, I kindly request that all necessary measures be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of Aisha’s grieving family and witnesses involved in the case.

Justice must be served for Aisha and her grieving family, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that such acts of violence are met with the full force of the law. The trust and confidence of our community in law enforcement’s ability to deliver justice are dependent on swift action and thorough investigation.

I have faith in the professionalism and dedication of the law enforcement agencies in our state, and I trust that you will take immediate action to address this matter effectively. I, along with many concerned community members,  including Kogi Central Persons with Disabilities Association, Okene Physically Challenged Group, and Kogi State Office for Disability Affairs (KOSODA) eagerly await updates on the progress of the investigation and the apprehension of the perpetrator.

Thank you for your attention to this urgent matter. I remain hopeful that justice will prevail, bringing solace to Aisha’s family and reinforcing our shared commitment to a safe and secure community.

Yours sincerely,
Hon. Ahmed Abdulkareem OnimisiĀ
