The final year brethren of Prince Abubakar Audu University are bidding a grand farewell to their academic journey with a series of unforgettable events. The celebrations, which are currently underway, are a treasure trove of laughter, tears, and memories that will last for a very long time.
It all begins with a nostalgic trip down memory lane on “Old School Day”. The brethren dressed up in outfits inspired by how their parents used to dress in the 1990s – think high-waisted jeans, oversized shirts, and chunky sneakers! They even adopted their parents’ mannerisms and behaviors, making for a hilarious and entertaining day. They took pictures, which will serve as a remembrance for them. Students from different faculties walked in troops, showcasing their unique dress code of the early 1990s.
The next day, the brethren dressed up in their professional best for Corporate Day, showcasing their future careers and aspirations. Students from different departments wore outfits representing the careers they aspire to. The excitement continued with Jersey Day, where the brethren donned their favorite sports jerseys, representing their beloved teams and players. They engaged in friendly sports competitions, cheering each other on and having a blast.
Cultural Day was a vibrant celebration of the brethren’s cultural heritage. They dressed up in traditional attire, performed folk dances, and savored local delicacies. A cultural exhibition was also organized, showcasing their artwork, crafts, music, and more. The final year students walked around the school environment in large numbers, creating memories as the event was being recorded.
The brethren then relived their childhood memories on Back to School Day. They attended mock classes, played schoolyard games, and recaptured the nostalgia of their school days. Most students wore their primary or secondary school uniforms and recaptured all that went on during those times. Some students even dressed up as teachers!
Jean Day was a unique addition to the celebrations, where everyone wore their favorite jeans and showcased their personal style. It was a day of denim and self-expression!
Finally, the brethren let loose and had a blast at their farewell party, dancing the night away and making memories that will last a lifetime. These celebrations are a testament to the bond and camaraderie that defines the brethren, and will be cherished forever.
