Religious Leaders have been asked to stand in the gap and to intensify in their prayers for the nation, especially in this period that the nation is passing through security challenges.

Kogi State Deputy Governor, Yomi Awoniyi, made the appeal when he received in audience the executive Committee of the Kogi State Public Service Fellowship in his office.

The Deputy Governor disclosed that the nation is passing through a trying period, called on Nigerians to seek the face of God for the dark night to be over.

Awoniyi, assured that Nigeria would survive the Boko Haram phase of life, called on Christian Clerics to do the needful by interceding in prayers for the nation.

The Deputy Governor, commended members of the Public Service Fellowship for standing out to propagate the Gospel of Salvation, urged them to continue to hold on to the ideals for which the fellowship was established.

He commended the fellowship for working in a challenging environment, described their demands for the completion of their Chapel as a legitimate demand, promised to convey their request for assistance and support to the State Governor.

Awoniyi, described Capt. Idris Wada the State Governor as a father who believed in the peaceful existence of adherents of various religious in the State, said his purposeful leadership, has ushered in peaceful co-existence in the State.

Earlier in his remarks, Jonah Emejeh, Chairman of the fellowship said the fellowship was established to advance Christian knowledge and practice among Christian believers in the Public Service.

Aside providing a place of worship and fellowship in the Public Service, the fellowship, he noted aims at propagating the gospel among Christians in the Public Service.

Highlights of the visit were the conferment of the fellowship’s Patronship on the Deputy Governor, which the fellowship noted was in recognition of his contribution to the growth of Christian faith and development of the State.
