Bishop Ibenu to Partner With WASUP to Raise Young Entrepreneurs for Africa

The Presidinimg Bishop, Chapel of Freedom International Church, Bishop John Ibenu has promised to partner with the West African Student Union Parliament (WASUP) to raise leaders from among the youths in Africa through the teaching and practice of proper entrepreneurship.

Speaking in response to the Kwame Nkrumah Servant Leadership award as ‘Icon of Societal Development in Nigeria’ bestowed upon him at the Chapel of Freedom International church, the Bishop encouraged the parliament to keep the flag flying in their bid to raise leaders and entrepreneurs that will make Africa great.

Ibenu who is also the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) chairman Kogi State chapter said his church would be ready to partner with the parliament through teaching entrepreneurship anywhere they gather students for that purpose in Africa.

“I will fly in there and teach entrepreneurship at my own expense and I will return because Africa is not poor it is just that we are not practicing proper entrepreneurship there is money everywhere we just need to harness it.”
He said the colonial masters came with one brief case later they left with lorry loads of our money.

“When they bring N1 million they take away billions of billions. We need our own people who will do the same thing.’
He admonished the students to have the fear of God, because it will eliminate corruption and winning election to lead by all means in Africa.

Other virtues for leadership according to Ibenu is integrity adding that no matter the changing times they should not succumb.

It is the time of change, you can only change your method but your core values should not change because you know the goal you are pursuing; An Africa that would be an enviable one.’

According to him, “Integrity is a practice but character is whom you are. You must imbibe strong Godly character that would be a model for others to follow your example.”

Finally, he admonished them to imbibe exemplary leadership, by being fair to all especially the people they are leading irrespective of tribe, of religion or country. “If you do that they will spread it to the grassroots.”

The speaker of the parliament Honorable Saint Solomon while presenting the Pan-African Exemplary Leadership Honor on the Bishop described him as a mam with magnificent experiences when it comes to administrative best practices.
