African Youth Growth Development Foundation(AYGDF) has challenged politicians in the country to change tactics from their selfish ways to give to the electorate what belong to them to ensure that there is peace and harmony.

Speaking against the backdrop that many civil servants in Kogi State are still being owed between 20 months and 4 months, State Coordinator/focal person of the foundation, Honorable Solomon Agada urged Kogi State Government to rise up to the occasion and do the needful by clearing all outstanding salary areas.

He spoke at the occasion of the presentation of the Icon of Democracy Man of the Year Award to Rt. Honorable Benjamin Ikani Okolo member representing Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency.

He said Okolo has paid his dues as a representative of the people adding that the foundation was giving him the award because he is always giving to the people what belongs to the people.

He said as an elected chairman of Dekina Local Government his performance was unprecedented with most of the villages lighted with electricity as many of the rural roads received facelift.

“During the period of his good leadership skills, many towns and villages witnessed unprecedented development, the people of the federal constituency are proud of his leadership quality.”

He explained that the African Youth Growth Foundation is a registered organisation with the Corporate Affairs Commission Abuja.

Agada added that countries like Tanzania, South Africa and others are in partnership with the foundation that has branches in Kogi, Kwara, Benue and other State of the federation.

The senior legislative aid to the House of repres native member Honorable Jibrin Dauda Dauda said coming from lowly background his principal understands the plight of the people.

He indicated that the reps member was a garage pay loader in Anyigba market, which makes him to be very conscious of that background.

Hence Dauda said his principal is always weary to see people suffering.

That is the reason he has been able to deliver all his promises in all his political appointments so far.

“When he was Dekina Local Government chairman his performance was outstanding and legendary which prompted many organisations to give him several awards.

He said the award coming from the African Youth Growth Foundation was not a surprise even as he commended them for their research and eventually finding him worthy of the award.

“He used to admonish us that anywhere you are serving, once you are able to give to the people what belong to them there would be peace and no rancour and the reason we have most of the problems in our society today is because people are not willing to give to the people what belong to them.”
