Senator Smart Adeyemi’s spokesperson and an stakeholder in Ijumu Local Government chapter of All Progressive Congress (APC), Kamaldeen Toyin has described the recent media outburst by PDP youth leader, Austin Okai as a resultant effect of taking unfiltered opium.
In his reaction, Toyin described Sen Smart Adeyemi as a ‘super politician’ with no equal clout in Kogi West Senatorial district.
Kamaldeen said Okai should have “consulted Rep member Tajudeen Yusuf himself who has been one of the Sen Smart Adeyemi’s loyalists over the years” to confirm his political status to that of Sen Smart Adeyemi before coming to the public space to give what he tagged as ‘Abuja Area 3 personality rating’.
“The 2015 general election was enmeshed by gross irregularities perpetrated by Senator Dino Melaye, who rejected the position of Director General of Wada/Aro Campaign Organisation due to failure of integrity test.
“Among what happened during the 2015 election was what led to the absolute exclusion of a judge in all electoral matters in Nigeria by NJC, as a result of corrupt and unjudicial roles played by the judge who presided over the case.
“Amidst the electoral fraud that marred the entire process, it will interest Okai to know that Sen Smart Adeyemi massively led Dino Melaye with a margin amounted to about 11000 votes in Okun land,” he said.
Kamaldeen described Senator Adeyemi as a rare political icon whose influence in Okun land can not be quantified. He said it is only an unpatriotic Okun person that will be silent where his race is publicly underrated as politically inconsequential.
He berated Engineer Musa Wada for his alleged tribalistic utterances adding that the PDP governorship candidate talked like someone who is all out to exhume the age-long religious extremism, gender discrimination and ethnic bigotry that has been buried in Kogi state by Governor Yahaya Bello.
He stressed that Senator Smart Adeyemi is an integrity personified enigma who is well respected by Okun leaders.
“We will never fold our arms to allow any alien and uncultured element to spit vituperation of whatever form on his person and personality. Be that as it may, Sen Adeyemi is a statesman that is highly cultured and vast in social relationship who is in a better position to caution or correct any social anomaly in the society irrespective of whose ox is gored.
“However, it is dangerously demeaning for anyone who is aspiring to lead a multi-ethnic and multilingual state like Kogi to publicly degrade other ethnic groups all in the name of politics. If Tajudeen Yusuf is helpless due to the phobia of loosing his seat as the PDP Director General Campaign Organisation and Sam Aro who is also from Kogi West senatorial district could not caution Wada for the reason best known to him, it becomes unavoidably expedient for a statesman like the distinguished Sen Smart Adeyemi to come out in clear terms in putting the record straight.”
Toyin said for Austin Okai to compare Sam Aro or Tajudeen Yusuf with Senator Smart Adeyemi is like comparing Barack Obama of United State of America with Félix Tshisekedi of Democratic Republic of Congo which signifies intellectual degeneracy.
