The Audu / Faleke Political Organisation has frowned at the violence unleashed on its supporters within the Kogi Governorship Election Tribunal Premises in Jabi Abuja by suspected thugs.
The thugs who came in their numbers brandishing posters and handbills of Alhaji Yahaya Bello beat up some Audu/Faleke supporters, wounding some in the process.
According to a statement issued by the Director, Media and Publicity, Audu / Faleke Political Organisation, Hon Duro Meseko, the thugs would have caused more havoc had a reinforcement of the Police not arrived to handle the situation.
“We condemn in totality this barbaric act of importing paid thugs to cause mayhem within the hallowed court premises. Of What purpose would that serve? We are surprised that thugs would be imported all the way from Kogi to Abuja to unleash violence on innocent citizens. Let it be made abundantly clear that no amount of intimidation can stop the course of Justice”, he said.
Hon Meseko called on the Inspector General of Police to approve more policemen to cover the Tribunal proceedings henceforth in order to forestall breakdown of law and order.
