Audu/Faleke Participation: Large Turnout at Kogi APC Ward Congress

Saturday’s Ward Congresses of the All Progressive Congress (APC) across Kogi State witnessed a large turnout following the participation of the Audu/Faleke group.
It would be recalled that there was apprehension when the Audu/Faleke Group issued a statement that it was going to boycott today’s Congress.
But a visit to all the Local Government Areas by our reporters witnessed a large turnout of enthusiastic party faithfuls, who attributed their enthusiasm to the support of their former leader Prince Abubakar Audu.
In a telephone conversation with Mohammed Audu, son to the flag-bearer of the December 2015, Kogi state governorship, he said APC remains the dominant party in the state.
He said the directives to be part of the Congresses by the Audu/Faleke group was informed by the need for participatory democracy after the meeting of the    political family held into the late hours of Thursday.
Mohammed Audu, commended the National Secretariat for the orderly conduct of the Congresses and also for the level playing field created for the Congresses to hold peacefully in the state.
Our reporters who visited the West Senatorial District, said the areas witnessed large turnout, with many of those spoken to attributing the large turnout to the support of the Audu/Faleke Group.
In Ijumu, the Congress was peaceful and experienced a large turnout. Tunde Fatunbi, commended the orderly arrangement put in place by the party, said they’re concern about the success owing to Tue support given them by the Audu/Faleke group.
In Lokoja LGA, Musa Inuwa said the Congress in the wards across the local government areas have been largely peaceful, commended the large turnout and orderly manner of the delegates.
Also, in Ajaokuta LGA, Francis Uhoitu, said he is impressed with the logistic arrangement, and attributed the participation of the youths and women in the congress to a sense of belonging given them by the party, and more importantly it underscores their interest to be part of the process.
In Dekina LGA, Danladi Usman, described the overflow of Parsons at the congress as the support the have for the Audu/Faleke group to the and described Dekina LGA as fully for APC .
He added that the people of  Dekina people are resolved in sustaining the good legacies of Late Prince Abubakar Audu, noting that the Congress is peaceful and commended the arrangement put in place by the Party.
In the other local government areas in the east, our reporters said aside the peaceful conduct of the Congresses, it was well attended in all the local government areas, commended Audu/Faleke Group for the arrangement put in place for a peaceful conduct..
In the Central Senatorial District, the exercise was largely peaceful with singing and drumming characterizing the Congress. In Okene, LGA, Faruk Omeiza, expressed satisfaction with the Congress, commended the party for a job well done, attributed the large turnout to the directives by the Audu/Faleke Group.
