The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has condemned the attack on communities in Oganenigu, Dekina local government area of Kogi state.
Recall that Edede, Ojapata, Ojuwo-Ile and Aloko communities, all in Oganenigu, were on Saturday invaded by armed men suspected to be herdsmen killing scores of innocent people and setting houses in the communities ablaze.
Reacting to the sad incident, NLC in a statement signed by its Chairman, Comrade Gabriel Amari described the attack as senseless, wicked, heartless and unacceptable in modern age.
Amari, while commiserating with the families of those that lost their lives in the sad incident, charged security agencies to fish out, arrest and prosecute any individual behind the attack in Oganenigu communities.
He equally frowned at the unwarranted attacks in this communities, charging security agencies to use their professionalism to unraveled perpetrators of the dastardly act.
The Labour leader described the attack as very unfortunate, especially at this solemn period when the Muslim faithful were observing the Ramadan fasting, while a cross-section of the Christians is similarly undergoing the Lent period.
He also urged the people to remain calm and not take laws into their hands.
