Ata Igala Vows to Correct Injustices in Igala Traditional Council

ATA Igala and President, Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Majesty Idakwo Michael Ameh Oboni II has promised to correct the many injustices, suppression, victimization and neglect in all area traditional councils in Igala land.

The monarch made the promise when Idekpa community in Olamaboro Local Government Area, Kogi State paid him a visit in his palace at Idah.

He stated that a lot of things have gone wrong in the kingdom, stressing that there was need to change the system towards making the kingdom a better place to live and assured that he would strive to correct the many noticeable wrongs.

The Royal father stated that he would use his position as Ata Igala to right the wrongs in the kingdom saying he would assist in creating an enabling environment for the socio-economic growth of Igala land.

The Ata Igala assured them that he would do everything possible during his reign to ensure unity among Igala people so as to regain the lost glory of the land.

Earlier, the leader of the community and also acting Onuhjeha of Idekpa in Olamaboro LGA, Prince Sunday Igoche Ejembi described the appointment of Ata Ameh Oboni as a positive development in Igala kingdom.

He stated that the community was in the palace to react to an address presented to him by Imane traditional council during his tour of the LGA in which they alleged that Idekpa community attempted cede Ade Idekpa land to Benue state.

He disclosed that Imane traditional council was the major problem of Idekpa community saying that there was no truth in the allegation.Source: The Graphic Newspaper
