Executive Director of Conscience for Human Rights and Conflict Resolution (CHRCR), Comrade Idris Miliki has called on the people of Kogi state to come up with a development strategy that will move the state forward.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Lokoja, Miliki noted that development of the state has been that of “one step forward and two steps backward”.

He congratulated the people of Kogi on the 29th anniversary of the state’s creation.

“A child of 29 years old is an adult and is responsible for all his or her actions. It is unfortunate that Kogi state is lagging behind in many ways.

“Ranging from infrastructure development, despite all the the resources both human and natural, the state is still the only one without state own television station. Laws passed by the state Assembly are not gazetted. Despite the Rivers Niger and Benue located in Lokoja, we can not have water for two hours every day. Despite the billions of Naira collected by the present government in the state, it has not commissioned one bed room flat in four years,” he said.
