How time flies! The Administrator of Adavi Local Government council, Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami clocked one year in office on Tuesday.
Without doubt, the administration of Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami under the leadership of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello has positively impacted on the lives of Adavians through its numerous innovations and his generosity toward the good people of Adavi as well as his impact in Adavi politics.
It has become a cliche that situations and allocation to the LGA’s are only for payment of salaries. However, since Hon. Joseph Omuya Salami assumed office, he seems to be in a great race to deliver the dividends of democracy to his people rather than giving excuses.
Within the first ninety days he spent in the office, he drilled two boreholes; One at Zango Cattle market and the other one at Ogaminana Central market where he as well built toilets at that same Central Market. He rehabilitated Adavi- Eba and Kuroko communities cemetery roads which have not been motorable before he assumed office. He further rehabilitated Inorere – down to Nagazi Federal roads. He donated two transformers to Zariagi and Nagazi Communities. He gave free medical eyes treatments to some communities in Adavi LGA. Where Kuroko, Osisi- Ipaku, Ogaminana Central and Ozuri Communities were part of the area that benefited from the free medical eyes treatment.
He donated over hundreds of motorcycles to Adavi LG staff, youths and some APC stalwart.
He joined hand with other LGs in Kogi Central in the rehabilitation of Okene waterworks project. Just about few weeks in office, he paid WAEC fee for over a hundred students who were less privileged.
He was in great haste achieving all this immediately he assumed office because he has a lot of assignment to do regards to APC party affair before the just concluded the general elections, which was part of the major reason APC recorded huge success across the eleven wards of Adavi LG.
His experience as Personal Assistant to former Legislative member, Hon. Sarki and as former supervisor on Agric to Adavi LG Council under the leadership of Hon. Adavuruku and as well being a grassroots party man has really opened his eyes about what leadership at the LG level is all about. He came very prepared and experienced on how to support the Administration of His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello.
Yes, the masses have been enduring for long to gain more dividends of democracy in Adavi. The present administration of the LG under the leadership of His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello inherited over 300 million Naira debt from the previous regime which they have been servicing and it really sabotaging the effort of the LG Council to bring more dividends to the people of Adavi.
I am very much happy that, the right people have been elected to join hands with His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello to bring more dividends of democracy and development to Kogi State at large.
