The last check on our political clock as a nation reveals that we are less than a year away to our 2019 general elections. By virtue of focus, this piece centres on the aspect of the elections to be conducted to usher in the Ninth (9) Federal House Of Representatives, specifically that of the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency ahead, come 2019.
For every constituent of Kabba/Ijumu/Bunu, the name “Architect Salman Idris” is a household name already, even as the campaigns are even yet to kick off. In this trend, strangers are not left out. This is obvious as they every now and then call the natives of the constituency to inquire of him (Arc. salman Idris) that they may know more of him and support him any way and in all ways. This is largely due to his following both home and abroad.
A seasoned politician and grassroot leader he is. He is the definition of what effective representation, astute leadership, and the likes, stand for. Where other politicians stand for self, he stands for the people. At every juncture he has proven that he will never mind going down with the people, for that is what “servant-leadership” entails and that is exactly what the people need to bank their singular mandate as electorates on. And that is what Arc. Salman Idris epitomises, he is the definition of a dedicated leader. A leader who is not coming into politics to merely test his popularity, but rather to feed the hungry and give drink to the thirsty, clothe the naked among, proudly identify with the lowly of status, be a voice to the voiceless and empower the people, taking away their numerous individual despairs and wiping their tears off their eyes in the process. These and many more positives are facts that no extent
of opposition can stand to argue against any day, any time.
Inspite of the above attestations, one must not be quick to overlook the school of doubt especially as it concerns the electorates and the entire people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency.
Time and time again, one basic hurdle before the people as they make to key into any politician is the question of ‘competence’. As God will have it, a leader like Honourable Teejay Yusuf has been able to show himself worthy all through time past till date. He has thus far passed the all-round effective representation competence test among others in the course of his close to seven (7) years journey in the Federal House of Representatives as the Honourable Member representing the good people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency.
As it stands, to every good thing started, continuity is key, even as opposition voices will be there to castigate and say even unprintable things in a desperate bid of theirs to soil the good on-going. Regardless, it will be regretful if the good works started by Honourable Teejay Yusuf are abandoned along the line as a result of lack of continuity. Everything and everybody within the constituency, home and abroad agree to the truth that as we approach the 2019 general elections there is only one indisputable “continuity agent” who is worthy to wear the cap of representing the good people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency in the Ninth(9) Federal House of Representatives, and that is no other but Arc. Salman Idris.
Without any mistake of need to observe the ritual of sentiment for whatsoever reason, competence and continuity is key in the destiny of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency. This should be the major hallmark and point of focus as we approach the 2019 general elections as a constituency.
It does not matter who comes from where, what matters is the factor of “competence”. And as it bothers on Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency, ahead of the 2019 general elections, one cannot talk about “competence” and not have his or her mind directed towards Arc. Salman Idris. This is because Arc. Salman Idris is the very embodiment of competence in all spheres even in terms of the possibilty of offering the people all-round effective representation.
Talking about the person and pedigree of Arc. Salman Idris, he is the epitome of the very requirements of a good ”people’s spokesperson”, a capable and all-round representative, an advocate of good course, a willing sacrifice for the good of the people, an unselfish leader for whatsoever gain or bargain, a politician who knows his onions and understands what effective and people-based representation entails. Arc. Salman Idris, an established technocrat is the way forward if the good life birthed upon the good people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu by Honourable Teejay Yusuf must subsist and flourish. In fact and in short, Arc. Salman Idris is the right choice.
In the course of time, no doubt, opposition voices and that of those who entirely do not wish the constituency good, shall arise but it is very important that the good people of Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu close their ears both now and during the electioneering period, to the falsehoods that shall be thrown at them by those on the other side of the divide and rather stay focused and dedicated to their candidacy of Arc. Salman Idris who is the right man for the job and the only true candidate worthy of stepping into the golden honourable shoes of Honourable Teejay Yusuf.
In all, competency and continuity of all-round effective representation should be the subject of bargain ahead of the Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency polls and that can only be guaranteed via the support for the candadicy of Arc. Salman Idris.
