The Chief Administrator of Igalamela/Odolu local government area, Hon. Joseph Baron Okwoli has stated that the APC-led administrations across Kogi State and Nigeria will not fail in its determination to provide purposeful leadership which will lead to massive human and infrastructural development.
Hon Baron made the statement during an interactive session with youth selected from each of the polling unit in Ajaka I and II in Igalamela-Odolu local government area.
The event which was held at the Igalamela-Odolu Multipurpose Centre, Ajaka attracted youths from all the polling units in Ajaka I and II as well as a handful of stakeholders.
In his welcome address, Baron expressed his satisfaction and appreciation to the youths for their brave efforts in bringing about the end of over a decade misrule by the PDP.
“His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello is a youth and he understands the situations facing the youths and is working assiduously to ensure that the the youths are fully empowered to break themselves from the shackles of poverty and overdependence”, he said.
The Igalamela-Odolu council boss charged the youths of the area to support the efforts of the present administration to ensure that development gets to all the nooks and crannies of the local government.
He reiterated the readiness of his administration to partner with the youths to ensure unhindered development in the area. He equally called on the youths to maintain peace and harmonious coexistence and condemned a recent attack on an innocent worker at the secretariat which he blamed on instigation and dissemination of falsehood by enemies of the administration.
He stressed that the ‘era of sharing of government money to selfish individuals’ was over; describing it as ‘PDP mentality’. He also tasked the youths to be more responsible, industrious and work towards achieving the set objectives of the present administration.
Hon Baron noted the payment of JAMB registration fees, payment of school fees, restoration of peace and security, grading of rural roads, renovation of Igalamela/Odolu guest house, renovation of LG secretariat and building of an ultramodern secretariat as some of the achievements of his administration.
Speaking on behalf of the youths, a representative of Okochogbe-Imere polling unit, Mr Yalo Isah commended the Chief Administrator for embarking on unprecedented and groundbreaking projects in the local government. He however called on the administrator to embark on wards and units tour of the local government in order to interact with some women and elders that were highly instrumental in ensuring that APC became a ruling party in the state.
Similarly the leader of APC Grassroots Canvassers in the local government, Comrade Sani Salifu praised the administrative team for what he described as “a job well done so far”.
“If Baron can do all these in an appointed position, he will do more amazing things when elected into office”, he said.
Delivering a vote of thanks, the Secretary to the local government, Hon. Rilwanu Inuwa urged the youths to remain peaceful and supportive of the government of APC at all levels.
