Residents of Apamsede in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State have called on the state government, corporate organizations and good spirited individuals in the state and beyond to come to the aid of the community in provision of basic social amenities.

The plea was contained in a letter written on behalf of the community by  Comrade Salawu Usman Otaru.

Comrade Otaru who described Apamsede as a fast developing village and farm centre located after Chari-Maigumeri Barracks before Zango in Adavi Local Government Area, revealed that the community has been in need of transformer since 2015.

The letter reads in part: “Having written several times to the state government through the Ministry of Rural Development since 2017, we wish to once again use this medium to humbly plead with the state government to come to our aid. Our community has been in perpetual darkness, nonavailability of access road and potable water. The absence of these basic amenities has made us to be cut off from the rest of the world.”

Some residents of the community however opined that Governor Yahaya Bello and members of the cabinet who are ever conscious of rural development would be remembered in the annals of the community if they expeditiously come to the aid of the community which has served as settlement for young employees of the state government.

One of the residents of who simply identified himself as Enesi averred that being an agitator of a good governance and dedicated supporter of New Direction agenda, Governor Yahaya Bello and his team will replicate the infrastructural development in other parts of the state in his community.

According to him, “the construction of road from Ozuwaya Iruvucheba ahache road is ongoing in Kogi central and also the construction and remodelling of Okene General Hospital.

“While GYB faces these aspects of development his team also use their resources to make their contributions to the community. To mention but few from GYB cabinet members starting from His Excellency, Deputy Governor of Kogi State. Chief Edward David Onoja, Chief of staff. Hon. Asuku Muhammad Jamiu, Auditor General for State Local Government, hon. Usman Ododo, Accountant General of the state, Hon. Jibrin Momoh, Special Assistant of GYB on Domestic Affairs, Hon. Kabiru Aliyu Ozionyene, Commissioner for Works, Engr Abubakar Ohere and several others”.

He pleaded that the aforementioned state officials should kindly facilitate the process of giving attention to the community in order to have a sense of belonging in the state.
