Dear Honourable Abejide,
On behalf of the Board of Trustees of Mopa Welfare Society, as an 85 years old retired Permanent Secretary and a Chief, I deem it fit to write this letter to you in the public sphere so that Yagba people and especially Mopa can know the truth of what you did to us.
I want to remind you that the Mopa Welfare Society has been the sole organ responsible for the development of Mopa since 1943 just as the Alu Progressive Union. That is to say, out of the 115 years recorded history of mutual coexistence since 1911, Mopa Welfare Society has been responsible for 83 solid years now.

In this process, the Mopa Welfare Society built the Mopa General Hospital, The Mopa Community Secondary School now ECWA Secondary school, the Mopa City hall, the Mopa post office, the Mopa water works, the Mopa palace and the Mopa Mortuary among several developmental strides.
As a matter of fact, you have contributed money meant for Mopa development in the past through the Mopa Welfare Society and when you donated hospital equipment to communities in Yagba, you sent the one meant for Mopa community to the Mopa Welfare Society. All these are verifiable facts that you have been dealing with us for some years now.
To this end, it was not surprising to us when you published the authentic account number of Mopa Welfare Society as recipient of the development fund that you graciously donated to all communities across Yagba land.
However, the twist came when your foundation paid the sum of N20, 000,000 meant for our communities to our account for which we sent a letter of appreciation. Surprisingly your foundation later approached us that the money was not meant for us anymore but was sent to us in error instead of another association in Mopa. Our response then was that, for posterity and accountability no one has the authority to move such amount of money from our account without a written document.
We then requested that your foundation write us officially stating that the money was erroneously sent to us and we would do the needful. We waited for the letter but instead we received a court summon sent through the Mopa Traditional Council.
We may not know those that advised you to go to court, but to say the least, as an elected Representative of our people, this action of yours is embarrassing, slightful, divisive and indecent going by the reputation of Mopa Welfare Society and our past relationship with your honourable self.
We have put up this letter to set the record straight for posterity sake and to demand apology from you if you reason it out that your action is preposterous, needless, uncalled for and also a dent on our community.
Signed
Chief Reuben Abe
Ajele of Mopa land
Chairman Board of Trustees
