The plenary held at the commencement of the Kogi state third session of the Kogi state sixth assembly has unarguably been a new step up owing to the blunt, serious, reformed and unanimity of members. This the distinguished Honorable Rabiu didn’t just key to but in his usual and outstanding manner showcased extraordinary vibrancy on the floor of the hallowed chambers.

After reading of proceedings for the day, following a very timely and well articulated motion for a vote of confidence on the honorable speaker sponsored by Hon Pedro of Mopamuro state constituency, Hon Rabiu took to his heels while backing the motion with a speech suavity which it’s likeness would have settled the Second World War to applause the mover of the motion, the keen contribution of his colleagues as well as the calmness of the speaker in the face of the whole turbulence stressing the need for an increased synergy among members to have a stable assembly as it will be in the overall interest of the state.

Thereafter came a debate at the backdrop of another motion moved by Hon Omiata concerning an indicting publication made on the nation newspaper of Wednesday July 26th credited to Kogi state government. At this point, members made very unbiased, cautionary and unsentimental contributions sending positively sensitive signal of precaution in case of future occurrence and Hon Rabiu’s contribution was quite concise.

His position was simply put as the members of Kogi state house of assembly represents the entire people of the state and hence seconded Hon Omiata’s motion in the light of the indictment the said report entails and members generally arrived at common consensus after diverse contributions was made by the members present.

There is no gainsaying, Kogi state house of assembly is now charged up at living up to the people’s expectations. Perhaps, it is in the light of this premise that the house has summoned the State Accountant General, Acting Head of Service and chairperson of SUBEB for a brief on the true position of civil servants salary. The summoned officers are expected to turn up next week.
