The Iron and Steel Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ISSSAN), Ajaokuta Steel Company Limited (ASCL) chapter, has congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari for his landslide victory in the just concluded presidential elections.
In a congratulatory message signed by Comrade Nuhu Salawu, the union also lauded the victory of other winners in the just concluded general elections, saying that it was a well deserved victory for Mr President and his team.
While urging the president to run and all inclusive government, the Union advised those who lost out in the election to accept the verdict in the true spirit of sportsmanship.
The leadership of the Union appealed to President Buhari to sign the already passed Bill of $1b from excess crude account by the National Assembly to rehabilitate and complete the largest and integrated steel company in Africa – the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
“We are aware of Mr President’s commitment to the development of the Steel sector and the revitalization of the economy. A second term for Mr President is a good omen for Ajaokuta Steel Company.
“Mr President’s quest to create jobs for the unemployed youths of Nigeria can be achieved through a functional Ajaokuta Steel Company.
“We are very supportive of Mr President in this direction. We are also aware that a completed and functional Ajaokuta Steel Company can generate well over twenty thousand jobs in its first phase,” he said.
The Union called on the President to equally complete all other external critical infrastructures which will generate millions of job for the unemployed teeming youths and young graduates.
