Ajaka Community Charged on Clean Environment

Residents of Ajaka, in Kogi State, have been called upon to promote clean environment and be involved in the monthly environmental sanitation exercise.

The Chairman Igalamela/Odolu Council Committee on Environmental Sanitation, Alhaji Akowe Oguche, made the call during the last monthly environmental sanitation exercise in Ajaka, the headquarters of Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area of the state.

He, however, praised the residents of the area for their compliance with the restriction of movement order and for using the opportunity provided by the restriction to clean their environment.

Oguche further commended members of the Yard 4 Kogi programme for their efforts at ensuring that the headquarters of the local government is made cleaner.

He equally commended the council chairman, Comrade Zakito Umar, for initiating the exercise, describing the exercise as necessary in view of the importance of a healthy environment.

The Departmental Security Officer of the council , Mr Daniel Alolo Odoma, also praised the law enforcement agencies for the maintenance of law and order during the exercise.

He called on the government to help in the provision of refuse disposal vans which he described as highly instrumental to the maintenance of clean environment.
