Senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali has praised female writer, Love Idoko for her literary efforts.
Aidoko made this known at Idoko’s book launch in Abuja.
Love, daughter of retired Justice Alhassan Idoko, launched her new book, ‘Celebrating 100 Episodes’ at Transcorp Hotel, Abuja.
Aidoko described the young writer as a determined lady from a disciplined background whose feat didn’t come as a surprise.
He challenged well-meaning individuals, corporate organisations and particularly state governments to encourage genuine ideas that will transform to lasting instincts. He expressed joy that the occasion was not politically-abused with the usual award ceremony, but a celebration of intellectual capabilities.
He noted that some state governments would rather prefer a tele-guided event instead of encouraging brilliant efforts. He condemned the idea of top government functionaries turning award winners overnight for services they are elected or appointed to render, he posited that this negates the basic tenets of democracy and its practice.
The Federal lawmaker promised to support efforts in this regard and congratulated the author of the book for her giant stride, urging her to sustain the momentum.
