A prominent political figure and real estate mogul, Hon. Muhammad Abdullahi, popularly known as “Elephant”, has formally taken a major step in his senatorial ambition by picking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) intent and nomination forms to contest the Kogi East senate seat in the 2027 general elections.

Elephant, an indigene of Ankpa Local Government Area, completed the process at the party’s designated office amid growing support from party faithful and stakeholders across the senatorial district, signaling a strong entry into the race.

Speaking shortly after obtaining the forms, the PDP aspirant reaffirmed his commitment to offering purposeful leadership and delivering effective representation at the National Assembly.

“I have taken this step after wide consultations with stakeholders, leaders and the good people of Kogi East. This ambition is driven by a genuine desire to serve and to provide the quality representation our people truly deserve at the Senate,” he stated.

He emphasised that his decision to join the race was anchored on the need to deepen development across the district and amplify the voices of his constituents at the national level.

“Kogi East must not remain on the margins of national development. I am prepared to bring our concerns to the front burner and work tirelessly to attract projects and opportunities that will uplift our people,” Abdullahi said.

Reiterating his grassroots connection and philanthropic track record, Abdullahi noted that his years of community service have prepared him for the task ahead.

“My journey has always been about impacting lives from supporting education and small businesses to improving access to basic amenities. This is not a new path for me; it is a continuation of what I have always stood for,” he added.

The senatorial hopeful also pledged to prioritise empowerment, infrastructure development and youth engagement if elected, stressing that inclusive governance would be central to his representation.

“Our people deserve better opportunities jobs for the youths, support for entrepreneurs, quality education and improved infrastructure. These are not just promises; they are commitments I intend to pursue with dedication and accountability,” he said.

He called on PDP members and the electorate across Kogi East to unite behind his aspiration, assuring them of transparent leadership and equitable representation.

“I seek your support and your trust. Together, we can build a more prosperous and united Kogi East where no community is left behind,” Abdullahi declared.

Hon. Muhammed Abdullahi’s formal entry into the race through the purchase of nomination forms is expected to significantly influence the dynamics of the Kogi East senatorial contest, given his strong grassroots network, philanthropic footprint and longstanding presence in the district’s political landscape.
