The member representing Ijumu Local Government Area in Kogi State House of Assembly, Honourable Victor Ade Omofaiye officially join Twitter.

This was contained in a statement made available to press yesterday by Omofaiye’s Special Adviser on Media, Mr. Prime Abubakar.

The statement reads; “In view of the fact that the world has become a global village and the need to connect with sons and daughters of Ijumu origin across the globe, Honourable Victor Ade Omofaiye announced the official opening of his Twitter account @Hon_AdeOmofaiye”

“Honourable Victor Ade Omofaiye believed that as representative of the people, he owe it a duty to feed the people who voted him back on his day to day activities and also to get feedback in form of advice, criticism, suggestions and contributions from his people. This prompted him to on a daily basis create time out of his busy office schedule to take questions and respond to them on so many social media platforms he finds himself”

It will be recalled that Omofaiye recently created a WhatsApp group, ‘Chat With Hon. Omofaiye’, with membership purely of Ijumu people where he has been interfacing with the people he represent.

According to Mr. Prime Abubakar, “through this Twitter account, Honourable Omofaiye will be able to reach out to a larger audience, especially Ijumu people outside the state and the country at large unlike the WhatsApp group that has limited number of membership”

Prime Abubakar took time to reel his the achievements of Omofaiye which include provision of functional boreholes for his constituents in Ayeh Gbedde and Ekinrin Adde while survey has been carried out on five other communities and drilling is scheduled to reach it final stage any moment from now. The benefiting communities are Igah community in Ogidi, lkoyi, Aiyegunle, Ogale and Ayere.

“Education being the major enterprise of his people, Omofaiye is proposing to pay NECO fees for Thirty (30) students in Ijumu. He has concluded plans to distribute exercise books to students in all schools domiciled in Ijumu land.Based on his findings that most of these schools lack instructional materials, Omofaiye said he will also provide customised chalks to these schools. Few weeks ago, he visited Ijumu students at Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja to present food items and cash support.

“On his primary assignment as a lawmaker, Omofaiye has six motions and two bills in waiting to his credit. On the floor of the House, he moved a motion calling on the state government to as a matter of urgency complete the abandoned roads across the entire Ijumu land. He equally moved a motion calling on the state government to establish Kogi State television in Lokoja. This motion was widely applauded across the state.
