New Year: Olu Adde Preaches Peace, Love, Harps on Sustainable Development

The Olu Adde of Ekinrin-Adde, His Royal Majesty, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu, ACA, CON, (Ahe Maworo1) has called on all sons and daughters of Ekinrin-Adde, at home and in the diaspora, not to relent in their pursuit of peace, love and sustainable development of the pace-setting Community in the new year 2025.

Olu Bamigbaiye Idowu, who is the Chairman of Ekinrin-Adde Traditional Council, made the clarion call in his New Year message, delivered to his media team at his palace on Tuesday night, 30th December 2024.

The monarch said the peaceful co-existence of his people remains the most valuable gift he desires in the year 2025.

According to him, love, peace, and mutual tolerance are pivotal to the sustainable growth and development of any Community.

Reflecting on the great grace the community has enjoyed in the past few years in terms of social development, Olu Bamigbaiye Idowu stressed that, “to whom much is given, much is expected.”

He said the foundation for a prosperous and united community is peace.

The Royal Majesty harped on mutual respect, harmonious co-existence, and a sense of togetherness among the people of the community.

Kabiesi disclosed that the series of ongoing developmental projects in the community can only be sustained when there is unity, peace, love, and tolerance among indigenes and all residents of the community. 

He commended the Akinrin of Ekinrin, His Royal Majesty, Oba Johnson Kolade Otitoju; the Adebuja of Ona-Adde, Oba Jimoh Olutekunbi; the Oludotun of Otun-Adde, Oba Kayode Olorunmaiye and the Oloyi of Ohi-Adde, Oba Stephen Makanjuola for their consistent efforts at promoting peace in the community.

“Ekinrin-Adde, as a giant of self-help, is an epitome of developmental firsts in Ijumu and Okun at large; all hands must be on deck to sustain this trend and maintain our frontline position,”  the Royal Father posited.

Furthermore, Olu Anthony Bamigbaiye Idowu extended his gratitude to Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for his developmental strides in the community; listing amongst others of Hon. Faleke’s developmental projects, the monarch pointed to the ongoing construction of a modern Police station, modern hospital wards, renovation of classrooms at the Baptist High School, the construction of two modern Royal Palaces, the construction of township roads coupled with the insulation of solar lights which has tremendously lightened up the community; provision of boreholes, Medical Outreaches, and other empowerment initiatives. 

He commended the life-changing community transformational projects championed by Hon. Faleke as legacy projects that will woo investors and attract more developments to the community. 

The monarch appreciated ESV. Olugbenga Collins Rotimi and his Ona Ara Movement for empowering hundreds of people as well as equipping the two secondary schools with laboratory equipment and also providing a motorized water borehole for one of the schools. The Olu-Adde recognizes a series of Empowerment programs facilitated by; Ambassador Ademola Moribirin and his Ademola Omoniwa Foundation, Hon. Funsho Olumoko, and his Ogidi Omo Movement, Ekinrin-Adde Diamond Ladies and others.

The Olu Adde sent his deepest gratitude to the Amazon duo of  Mrs. Yemisi Jumoke Abdullahi who facilitated a Block of 3 room self contain apartment in Ekinrin-Adde Cottage Hospital and Princess Mrs. Iyabo Soji Okusanya (NEE Otitoju) who is the brain behind the establishment of a branch of Access Bank in the community.

Closing his passionate message, Olu Adde lauded the outgoing Executive members of the Ekinrin-Adde Community Development Association (EACDA) for their strategic lobbying, which has raised the bars of community leadership and has engendered rapid growth and accelerated development for the community. 

While congratulating the new leadership of the association, the Monarch who declared 2025 as the year of Divine Response for Ekinrin-Adde and her sons and daughters, emphasized the importance of running an inclusive and people-oriented administration. 

Olu Bamigbaiye Idowu appealed for renewed commitment and unwavering dedication to the development of Ekinrin-Adde Community, praying for safety, strength, and riches as we saunter into the new year.
