The Kogi Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), on Sunday, officially inaugurated its campaign council in preparation for the October 19, 2024, council elections in the state.
The campaign council, comprising 11 standing committees, is headed by a chairman and supported by its secretary and members.
Hon. Abubakar Muhammed Tanko Osuku, representing the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Abubakar Bashir Gegu, urged campaign council members to put in the hard work necessary to secure victories in their respective units and wards during the forthcoming council polls.
He, however, commended Hon. Bashir Gegu’s outstanding leadership and reiterated the committee’s steadfast commitment, adding that every single party member must strive to deliver their units and wards respectively.
He praised Hon. Bashir Gegu’s exceptional leadership and reaffirmed the committee’s unwavering loyalty, dedication and support.
The Director General of the Campaign Council, Hon. Ibrahim Bashir expressed his delight during the inauguration and emphasized the importance of hard work in defeating the opposition across various units and wards.
“I am confident in the committee’s setup and have no doubts about our ability to deliver on our responsibilities. I hereby accept this responsibility and pledge to do my utmost to ensure success,” he averred.
Earlier, Hon. Abubakar Sadiq Onah, the Local Government Party chairman, had high praise for Hon. Bashir Gegu’s leadership, describing him as a “leader per excellence.”
Onah expressed confidence that with the party’s solid structure, the All Progressives Congress (APC) would emerge victorious, sweeping the elections clean.
He further acknowledged that in the coming days, the party would welcome high-profile defectors, whose influential presence would significantly bolster the party’s chances of victory.
In the same vein, Hon. Abdulmalik Musa, the APC council candidate, has made a promising commitment to the party and the people of the Local Government, vowing not to disappoint if elected.
He also took the opportunity to praise Hon. Bashir Gegu for consistently prioritizing the interests of the council and re-echoed his loyalty to the Leadership of the party.
In his vote of thanks, the member representing Kogi Local Government state Constituency, Hon. Idris Aliyu Maikudi emphasized the importance of unity among party stakeholders to achieve a resounding victory.
He expressed confidence that under Hon. Bashir Gegu’s leadership, the All Progressives Congress (APC) will continue to emerge triumphantly.
The meeting had in attendance the State Deputy Chairman, Kogi West Zonal Coordinator, Party Stakeholders, State Appointees and Ward Special Assistants amongst others.
