The Kogi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all students who completed their online registration and verified are paid the 2024 bursary award.
The bursary award is strictly for qualified students of Kogi State origin in higher Institutions across the Country who registered for 2024 State Government Bursary Award.
The state’s Commissioner for Education Hon. Wemi Jones, gave the assurance on Friday in Lokoja, when he received the Executive of the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS), led by its National President, Jeremiah Elukpo.
The commissioner stressed that Gov. Ahmed Ododo, has taken education as number one priority and would make sure that all the students of the state in higher institutions across the country feel government’s impacts.
Jones emphasised that all those that applied for 2024 State Government Bursary Allowance would be paid after the completion of the ongoing verification exercise.
The commissioner allayed the fear of the students that some students might be left out of the program.
He assured that everyone who completed the online registration and duly verified would receive his/her entitlement.
He explained that the government was putting every thing in place to ensure that the right people benefit from the State Government gesture.
According to him, the state government is currently verifying the 10,200 students who applied and completed their 2024 Bursary Allowance Registration online.
Earlier, the National President of NAKOSS, Jeremiah Elukpo, said they were in the ministry to get first hand information about the scheme, saying that NAkOSS was worried that some students might be left out of the scheme.
Elukpo thanked the governor for reviving the Bursary Allowance, and promised that NAKOSS would ensure that the program was successful and everyone who applied get their allowances.
He congratulated the Commissioner for the success stories the Ministry, has recorded under his leadership and assured that the Association to would work with the Ministry whenever the service is needed.
