Kogi State PDP Leaders and Hypocrisy; A Sad Tale of Co-joined Twins

Since losing power in 2015 to erstwhile Governor of Kogi State, HE Yahaya Bello in Kogi State, the fortunes of the Peoples Democratic Party has continued on a free-fall like a rotten Apple from its tree.

The party in Kogi State is largely characterized by men of easy virtue whose thinking faculties have been overshadowed by the survival at any means. Even if it means prostrating before anyone and call them daddy and mommy.

Often times, the public is made aware of the hypocrisy that exists within the PDP ranks especially during elections. It is no longer news that some acclaimed leaders have turned the party into a bargaining chip of some sort to fulfill their selfish desires.

Integrity and self-worth is dead in their books and will openly embarrass their generation for a mere pot of soup probably without meat.

During the 2023 elections, we saw what played out. We saw when the party was slaughtered on the alter of ethnicity. It played out in Kogi East and Kogi Central.

Fast forward to present times. It was a disgusting sight to behold an acclaimed leader in Kogi central and probably the political backbone of a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of the PDP, drumming support and openly endorsing a chairmanship aspirant in the All Progressive Congress (APC).

What is even more disturbing is the fact that such repugnant sight was met with deafening silence from “mommy” who have always grown trust issues with anyone seen around her perceived “enemies”.

Of course, Alhaji Badams, former Adavi council boss, and federal lawmaker is not news to this kind of controversies. He is one of those who assumes his political career is larger than life, and as such, anti-party activities should not be nailed to him.

Such is the only reason why a man who single-handedly picked Adavi Local Government structure will openly smile to the photographers alongside his Local Government party secretary to welcome people from his co-joined twin party.

The hypocrisy of PDP leaders stinks to the depth of hell. The party is in dire need of restructuring.
