Human beings do not have power on their own to stop or overcome sin until the spirit of Jesus comes into their hearts to forgive sin.
The General Overseer of Chapel of Freedom International Churches, Bishop John Ibenu, stated this at the end of thirty second anniversary of the church in Lokoja.
According to him, the theme of this year’s conference, ‘Jesus Revolution, Endless Opportunities’ can be summarized that the end of all sin, corruption and challenges that face us is to embrace Jesus revolution and kingdom lifestyle.
He explained that Jesus Revolution is about the kingdom of heaven and kingdom of God which is to promote righteousness, peace (reaceful coexistence) and joy (right attitude to all they do in life, society and nation).
The Bishop called on everyone to surrender their lives to Jesus so that they can get to heaven when their lives on earth is over, adding that Jesus revolution help us to look at the nation and political system challenges from the eye of God.
The former Chairman of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kogi state chapter, noted that Jesus revolution is about shunning what is evil and embracing purity of heart in all that people think, say and do, stressing that God will bring all actions to judgment one day.
According to him, “let us pray for Nigeria and Kogi State, for first and foremost, a change of heart for the fear of God by our leaders and the led. Economy and security atmosphere calls for prayers for divine intervention for a peaceful and prosperous society in line with Jeremiah 29:7.
“Jesus revolution is about following the teachings of Jesus to change convert criminals into responsible citizens, empower people to become productive for themselves and also become employers of labour for the society.”
Dr Ibenu who used Nigeria flag to pray for peace, unity and development while quoting from the book of second Chronicles chapter 7:14 and Ezra 1:1, called on government at all levels to solve the issue of food security by removing the bandits from farm across Nigeria and stop playing lips service to it.
Also speaking, guest speaker from South Africa, Titus Shitole said salvation is personal.
Shitole said things of God as well as living for Jesus is also personal, adding that some people work for him but not live for him.
