Kogi Poly Mourns Pioneer Governing Council Chairman, Senator Alex Kadiri

The Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, Prof Salisu Ogbo Usman has, on behalf of the Governing Council, management, staff and students, commiserated with the family of the late Senator Alex Usman Kadiri, who passed away on 28th June at the age of 82.

Dr Alex Kadiri who represented the Kogi East Senatorial District in the Senate between 1999 – 2003, also served as the pioneer Council Chairman of the Polytechnic between 1993-1998.

The Rector described the late Senator Kadiri as a champion of academic distinction whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the academic preeminence of the Kogi State Polytechnic of today.

He added that the late Senator’s dedication to academic excellence remains immeasurable; a testament to his unyielding commitment to nurturing young minds and illuminating the pathways of many towards excellence.

He said, in the grand scheme of things, the late Senator Kadiri was a thorough bred technocrat, seasoned administrator, and altruistic politician whose primary drive was for the betterment of humanity.

The Rector added that the entire Polytechnic community would surely miss the guidance, wisdom, and leadership acumen of the late Senator and former Governing Council Chairman, but are consoled by his engraved legacy which will continue to inspire the institution to strive for excellence.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the former Senator and urged his family, the Odu Community and Kogi State at large to be consoled by his outstanding records and contributions for the development of humanity.
