A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Ankpa local government area of Kogi state, Alhaji Ayuba Nana has extolled the leadership qualities of Governor Usman Ododo.
In a statement on Saturday, the former local government chairman described Governor Ododo as a discipline, focused and consummate politician who can manage people and resources effectively.
He commended the governor over the prompt payment of June salary to enable workers in the services to prepare for the Eid-el Kabir celebrated today.
He applauded the Governor for making good the promise he made at Ganaja village that workers’ salary will be paid by middle of June for sallah celebration.
Ayuba also said the governor has never defaulted on monthly payment of salaries and pension and usually pay workers before 25th and 26th of every month which is highly commendable.
“The civil servants in Kogi State are happy with Governor Ododo’s tradition of consistency in payment of salaries, pensions and gratuities of retired workers. The people are particularly happy with the Governor’s compassionate approvals for early release of salaries at the middle of June ahead of Sallah. All of these show the Governor’s high degree of respect for workers and compassion for retirees.
“The payment was intended to prevent rush preparations that could expose workers to demand-triggered inflation in cost of food, clothing and services.
“His constructive and eminently positive attitude to work and socio political issues makes him a testament to the desirable quality of our leadership,” he said.
Ayuba commended Governor Ododo and urged workers to rededicate themselves to lawful duties in the best interest of the public.
