The Caretaker Chairman Ijumu local government area of Kogi state, Alhaji Ibrahim Haruna, has expressed appreciation to Ogidi community for their total support for Governor Usman Ododo during late year election.
He urged them to sustain the cooperation and support.
Speaking at the 2024 Ogidi Day festival on Saturday, Haruna said Governor Ododo is consolidating well on the achievements of his predecessor, hence the need to give him maximum support.
According to him, Governor Ododo is dealing with security issues in the State headlong, saying the same measure being implemented in Ijumu Kingdom.
While assuring the people of Ijumu of massive infrastructural development, the Caretaker Chairman extended his profound gratitude to the Ijumu Traditional Council led by His Majesty, Oba Williams Olusegun Ayeni for playing critical fatherly role in the security of Ijumu Local Government.
He felicitated the Ologidi of Ogidi, HRM. Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule, leadership of Ogidi Development Union (IDU) as well as Ogidi sons and daughters both at home and diaspora on the auspicious occasion.
The Caretaker Chairman was joined by Special Adviser to the Governor on Students and Youths Affairs, Hon. Oladele John Nihi for the event that also graced by Kogi State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara rtd and the State Auditor General for Local Government, Hon. Yakubu Adabenege and other top dignitaries.
The celebration of Ogidi Day Festival is an annual event, celebrated after the new Yam Festival but this year’s edition is unique as both special events coincided.
