The Onoko Clan of Ajaokuta Local Government Area of Kogi, has commended Gov. Yahaya Bello for the recent upgrading of their paramount Traditional Ruler, the Great Ovanebira of Eganyi, from 2nd class to 1st class Chief.
The Onoko Clan appreciated the Governor in a statement jointly signed by its Chairman, Alh. Lasisi Ogu Sule, and Chairman of Onoko Development Association, Worldwide, Alh. Nasiru Orobo, made available to journalists on Saturday in Lokoja.
“On behalf of the entire Onoko Clan in Ajaokuta LGA, we want to express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, Alh. Yahaya Bello, Executive Governor of Kogi State, for the recent upgrading of our paramount Traditional Ruler, the Great Ovanebira of Eganyi, from 2nd class to 1st class Chief.
“The stool of Ovanebira remains the oldest traditional seat alongside the Stool of Adogu that has reigned from the uphill terrain settlement to our current territory called Eganyi.
“Your Excellency Sir, it was with great pleasure that we received the news of the upgrading and we are seizing this golden opportunity to reaffirm our absolute loyalty and maximum support to your Government, most especially, your political direction that will lead to the glorious emergence of your trusted successor, Alh. Ododo Usman, as the next Executive Governor of Kogi State,” the Clan said.
According to the statement, the Onoko Clan constituted the largest family in Ajaokuta LGA spreads across the 14 Wards of the Local Government.
The group expressed their commitment to remain the biggest supporters of the Governor’s enviable administration and would continue to abide by his political direction that has brought numerous outstanding developments, security, and progress to Kogi State and Ajaokuta in particular.
The Clan praised the Governor for building up their son, Hon, Suleiman Abdulakreem Onyekehi, into a great leader who is diligently discharging his duties and making positive impacts in the lives of the people of Ajaokuta LGA and Kogi State at large.
“We also specially appreciate your workaholic Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr. Deedat Ozigi Salami, for displaying an uncommon dedication and loyalty to Your Excellency’s New Direction Government and his love for our people. We are grateful to him always.
“It is our earnest prayer that God Almighty will continue to protect and bless Your Excellency, and we will continue to identify your outstanding leadership,” the Onoko Clan said.
