Christians have been called upon to live the teachings, virtues and message of love by Jesus Christ.

The presiding Bishop of Chapel of Freedom International Churches, Lokoja, Dr. John Ibenu, made the call during the church service to mark Easter Sunday in Lokoja.

He enjoined Christians to reflect on the resurrection of Jesus as a sign of God’s love and gifts to them, hence, they should continue to spread love and promote unity.

The Bishop, who continued with his Easter message to the world, explained that sin came to us through one man and taken away by one man from us, saying preaching is death prevention.

According to him, Easter is a season that reminds us that the God almighty can turn an unpleasant situation round for good, praying that God should take us from celebration to revelation.

The former chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kogi state chapter, said the cross of Christ is the hope for all human being. He stressed the need for Christians to imbibe the good virtues of Jesus Christ to create a better society.

Bishop Ibenu urged Nigerians to remain hopeful about the nation’s progress saying the death and resurrection of Christ signified hope for mankind.

The Bishop explained to the congregation that, the taking of the Holy Communion is to remind the faithful his death on the cross, urging Nigerians to celebrate in love, compassion, unity, kindness, resilience and forgiveness. He wished Christians in Nigeria and worldwide a happy Easter celebration.

High lights of the church service include, taking of Holy Communion and prayer for the sick among others.
