The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared former Kogi State Commissioner for Works, Abubakar Ohere as the winner of the Kogi Central senatorial election.
INEC Returning Officer, Prof. Rotimi Ajayi, in Okene on Monday.
Ohere beat Barr. Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to emerge winner of the keenly contested election.
Prof Ajayi said Ohere garnered 52,132 votes to beat Natasha who had 51,763 votes, a difference of 369 votes between them.
“Engineer Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere of the APC having scored the highest votes in the election for the Kogi central senatorial seat is hereby declared winner, and is therefore returned elected,” Ajayi said.
