Amuro Community Secondary School Old Students’ Association is set to launch a fifty million Naira school development fund for her alma mater.
The President of the old students’ association, Alhaji Razaq Ajiboye disclosed this to newsmen in Amuro on Saturday.
Ajiboye said the development fund is part of activities lined up to mark the school’s golden jubilee anniversary billed to hold between 31 March and 2 April 2022 at Amuro, Kogi state.
He added that the event will feature a visit of the association to the Alamuro of Amuro-in-Council on Thursday, 31 March while invitees are expected to watch the inter-house sports in the morning to be followed by the Annual general meeting between 3-4pm on Friday, 1 April.
According to him, the grand finale of the anniversary on Saturday, 2 April will witness the commissioning of the renovated and equipped laboratory, cultural performance, launching of fifty million naira school development fund and presentation of awards.
Apart from working towards the infrastructure development of the school, the President expressed optimism that the anniversary will serve as a veritable platform for interaction among past and present staff and students of the school, leaders of thought, representatives of the Kogi State Government and leading politicians of different shades of opinion aimed at fostering love, unity and progress of Okun.
Expected at the occasion are traditional rulers, past and present distinguished members of the National Assembly from Okun and honourable members of the Kogi State Executive Council.
Others include prominent politicians, opinion leaders and pioneer teachers of the school among others.
