The executive chairman of Yagba West Local Government Council, Hon. Pius Kolawole on Saturday rounded off his tour of communities affected by rainstorm in his domain with a promise to seek state and federal government assistance for the affected communities.
Schools, private houses in Egbe, Ejiba, Odo-Ere, Odo-Ara, Okoloke, Ogga and Okunran communities were affected, with several persons rendered homeless by the rainstorm which occurred on Wednesday.
Pius expressed shock after assessing the level of damage caused by the unfortunate incident.
He sympathized with the affected communities and victims whose roofs were completely blown away by the rainstorm.
“This is one disaster too many. It is very unfortunate that this is happening at this critical time. I can assure you that we shall bring these to the attention of the state and federal government for possible assistance towards alleviating your suffering,” Pius said.
