Chairman Kogi State Security Trust Fund, Hon. Teina Abdulmalik has called for collaborative efforts from hoteliers, business proprietors and other relevant stakeholders to tackle security in the state.
Abdulmalik, who made the call during an interactive session with the stakeholders, said the partnership is targeted at curbing crime in the state.
He assured business operators of the Trust Fund’s commitment to them by providing enabling environment for socio economic activities to thrive in the state.
He charged hoteliers in particular to be vigilant in view of the vital role they play in providing hospitality to different group of people.
He appealed to stakeholders to be committed to their financial obligations to the Fund so as to enable it meet the set objectives.
In his response, the state Kogi Chairman of Hoteliers Association, Mr. E. Ocheni, who lamented on the effect of Covid-19 pandemic on their businesses, appealed to the state government to harmonise in the various taxes on hotels in the state.
He said hoteliers in the state has suffered a huge loss as a result of multiple taxation on them by the state just as he stressed their own readiness to partner with fund to tackle insecurity in the state.
Also speaking, Mr Julius Obaka, a representatives of West Africa Ceramic pointed that security of the society require collective efforts of all and sundry just as he called for all hands to be on deck to make Kogi a crime free state.
