I have heard with dismay news of an attempted assassination plot on your very life, that of your family and aides of which you have cried out for help to higher authorities and security agencies.

It is very unfortunate and worrisome today in Kogi State that anyone with divergent views from that of the State Governor on how governance should be best administered to the people is marked for death.

We all in the state know of how you have been humiliated, sidelined and constantly threatened not for any other reason, but for standing for the truth and seeking the common good of our people in the state.

As a Christian, an Elder indeed, I would like you to anchor your faith on the words of the psalmist written in the book of Psalms 27 vs 1 which says, The lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall i fear? The lord is the strength of my life whom shall i be afraid?

It is more worrisome although not unusual that nobody in the state especially those who parade themselves as leader from Igalaland where we come from, have spoken in your defense or safety as our people are more interested in the downfall of a brother for their personal greed.

I would like you to be consoled with the knowledge that power in itself is transient. Those who see public office as an avenue to intimidate, maim and kill innocent  people should be ready for the consequences of their actions tomorrow; for more definitely and by the grace of God, the Egyptians we see today in Kogi State we shall see them no more sooner or later.

I stand with you at this time of your travails, knowing that God would not only deliver you from desperate men, but would also vindicate you, keep you and your family safe and sound.

I urge you to wait on the lord and be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart; wait, i say on the lord.

Remain ever protected under the canopy of God

Your Brother,

Sani Idakwo Philips
