In the last twenty four hours, the member representing Idah Federal Constituency, Honorable David Zacharias has received with disappointment, reports currently circulating on the social media that his campaign group is supporting the gubernatorial bid of Real Admiral Jibrin Usman (rtd) and other candidates of the party in a bid to secure ticket for an Igala candidate.
The reports which trends on the Facebook of one Ajogwu Linus quotes some members of the David Zacharias’ “Door to Door” campaign group as supporting some candidates when some of them picked their nomination forms at the APC headquarters, Abuja.
The statement went further to state that Hon. Zacharias has dumped Yahaya Bello to support an Igala candidate of the party that will emerge by carefully pushing his supporters ahead in the main times.
It was our intention not to respond to the poorly scripted post on the social media, however this response is not to dignify the social media post or give credibility to the rumor as well at the cheap fabricators, but to set the records straight, especially for those who will ignorantly copy and paste such posts, thereby contribute to spreading fake news and injuring the innocent minds of the support base of Hon. David Zacharias.
The statement, its authors and those who imagined the statements are in themselves childish, baby politicians, irresponsible, unthinkable and highly laughable for any reasonable human being with political sense to think that Honorable Zacharias will dissolve his political support group for another candidate other than His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whose candidature for a second term, Zacharias has publicly endorsed, supporting and seeing that it comes to fruition.
For the records, members of the public are to note that:
1. Hon. David Zacharias has just one candidate for the November 16, governorship election in Kogi State in the person of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.
2. All the campaign and support groups officially used by Hon. David Zacharias have since been collapsed to working, mobilizing and supporting His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who will by the grace of God, come out victorious in the election.
3. Members of the public and politicians out there should be weary of “political jobbers”, disguised in the name of Hon. Zacharias support group to get monetary gains as anyone who does any transaction(s) with such stranded and politically hungry individuals in the name of Hon. Zacharias, does so at their own pearl.
4. The executive members of Hon. David Zacharias’ support group who have since been hinted by the honorable Member and have accepted the roles they are expected to play in the governor Yahaya Bello’s election, are neither aware of the fake support given to any other candidates or used the structure to support any group.
5. Honorable David Zacharias once again, reiterates his unreserved and total support to the leadership and position of the party in Kogi State, declare his loyalty to the detribalized Governor and is ever ready to stand with the governor ahead of the Novembers 16 governorship election in Kogi state.
6. All party elders, stakeholders’ members, supporters and well-wishers from Idah federal constituency and beyond should treat the rumors as an orchestrated agenda by those seeking cheap political gains to distract the federal constituency and divert attention of the David Zacharias support group from the divine task ahead of them.
