The main purpose of governance is to ensure provision of good security and welfare of the masses across all facets.
It be noted that there are environmental security, economic security, social security and physical security, which are sine qua non to good governance.
You can’t focus on physical security and think you have provided total security for the people. Oh! What a scam!
A good leader would respect human dignity and value by providing good welfare in order to ensure labour’s productivity for economic growth and development. Anyone who has failed to achieve these is not fit to continue ruling in leadership position.
Looking at the recent attacks in Kogi State University where students are no longer safe to read at night, and most of the time sleep with all eyes opened at nights due to the security challenge in the university. This simply tells us that the state of security under Gov Yahaya Bello is nothing to write home about.
Meanwhile, many of the so-called praise singers would boldly tell you “GYB is working”. The question we should ask them is: If Bello is actually working, why do we still have these security issues at stake?
In summary, we must endorse a better candidate in the forthcoming guber election if we must enjoy a maximum security across all sectors.
