Distinguished Kogites,
I Rowland Olugbuyi, formerly known as Rowland Ogungbuyi, wish to declare my intention to contest for the office of Kogi State Governor come November 2nd, 2019 on the platform of Young Progressive Party (YPP).
My decision was borne out of the desire to take Kogi state from this state of jeopardy, state of infrastructural dearth and chronic state of non-payment of salaries to a state of development. This can be done through enhancing a strategic model of good governance.
My mission is to attract resources from around the world and equally employ best practices for running a transparent and accountable government in order to transform the State for a rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.
In delivering this, my government has decided to put forward 8 point agenda and these are listed thus below:
1. To Promote peace and positive unity in every community in Kogi State
2. To create enabling environment for business activities in the State
3. Job creation, youth development, reduction of tuition fee in all State owned higher institutions by 50%, revive and rehabilitation of public schools (primary and secondary) across the state.
4. Improvement on the capacity building of Civil Servants through job training, motivation and prompt payment of salary.
5. To build road networks across the State that would stand the test of time based on international standards.
6. To build gas turbine for electricity generation in every LGA of the state
7. To get portable and drinkable water to every community in Kogi State
8. And above all, Education will be given top priority, being aware of the dying state of educational system in the State.
By the grace of God, these 8-point agenda of my government would begin to manifest in the first phase of my government. And I pledge to put up 80% of my 8-points agenda to completion by the 3rd year of my government.
Finally, I humbly invite Kogites of like-mind and Nigerians to support me in prayers, financially and Godly counseling in order to have free-hand in TRANSFORMING Kogi State to her greater height to the GLORY of God.
