In their usual way of triggering crisis before shouting wolf, we want to bring to the notice of the general public that, thugs loyal to the Senatorial Candidate of SDP in Kogi Central, Ms Natasha Akpoti have once again destabilized the relative peace and harmony enjoyed in Obangede by attacking the houses of APC loyalists living in Okuhapa during their campaign tour of Okehi Local Government Area.
The unwarranted attacks was effected and coordinated by one Bonga, the Ward Head of Okuhapa in Obangede, the headquarter of Okehi Local Government.
According to an eye witness, the SDP thugs without any provocation but for reasons best known to them, swooped on the residence of a serving Supervisor in Okehi Local Government, Hon. Okehi Obajimoh and destroyed property worth thousands of naira. A shop belonging to his wife was also destroyed while all sales items were completely looted by the rampaging thugs.
The thugs went on to rob road side houses collecting their valuables and even handsets from aged women. Customers of nearby local clothing and eatery joints were not spared by Natasha boys as they are now popularly called.
The SDP thugs have their way but not without the collaboration of the Okehi SDP House of Assembly Candidate’s brother, S/Sgt Daniel Moses, an Army Personnel who wanted to legalize the SDP wanton destruction and looting all in a well calculated attempt to intimidate and threaten APC supporters in Obangede ahead of the forthcoming polls in less than 36 hours.
The Natasha thugs who were not contented with their destruction in Obangede raised the bar in Ihima by going on free rampage. Some of the carnage perpetrated by the thugs in Ihima yesterday were:
1- Vandalization of the residence of Hon. Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Abdulsalam Ozigi Deedat at Obeiba.
2- Vandalization of the residence of a former APC Senatorial Aspirant, Hon. Jimoh Otori Otan at Oboroke Eba and his APC Campaign bill board.
3- Vandalization of the shop of the wife of APC Youth Chairman, Hon. Ozovehe Lawal at Ohueta.
4- Assault and vandalization of the residence of Special Adviser on Women Affairs, Hon. Wosilat Abubakar at Ohueta.
5- The vandalization of two vehicles belonging to one Abdulmumin Salihu in front of Otan residence at Oboroke-Eba.
6- Burning down of a motorcycle belonging to an APC supporter, Mr Ahmed Fatai at Obeiba.
7- Physical assault on Oboroke-Eba Women Leader, Mrs Abdulmumin Salamat and the vandalization and looting of her shop at Oboroke.
8- Destruction of APC Campaign bill boards at Oboroke and Ichamete in Ikuehi.
9- Physical assault causing severe injuries to one Iliyasu in Obeiba who is presently receiving treatment in a government hospital.
10- The vandalization of Muttalib Ibrahim’s saloon for the second time at Ohueta.
11- The vandalization of the residence of Abdul Zubair, an APC Assistant Youth Leader from Ohueta Ward and as well his Wife saloon.
12- The vandalization of the household items and electrical appliances at the residence of Ismaila Salihu at Ohueta.
13- The vandalization of a motorcycle and sewing machine belonging to Adai Adams Sule at Obeiba.
14- The vandalization of the beddings and motorcycle belonging to Adai Idris Bello, the Ward head of Ohueta Ward.
15- The vandalization of Buhari/Osinbajo free WiFi, Charging and Browsing Kiosk while also carting away the accessories.
16- The vandalization of the residence of Ibrahim Tunde Tijani.
17- The burning down of the Commercial Motorcyclist Park at Obeiba in the night and lots more as the list is endless.
Ms Natasha, as you enjoyed your night in the comfort of a hotel, your thugs have succeeded in turning the people of Obangede, Ohueta, Obeiba and Oboroke Eba to refugees in their own land.
Ms Natasha and her Campaign Organisation have repeatedly shouted wolf ahead of their yesterday’s tour but it has now shown clearly that they are the ones perpetrating violence as no incidence or traceable reason could be attributed to their unwarranted attacks on APC supporters across Okehi LGA yesterday.
We therefore, use this medium for the umpteenth time to caution Ms Natasha, her thugs, conspirators and others alike to allow peace to reign; as the patience of the APC supporters should not be misconstrued for cowardice.
Similarly, we enjoined Traditional Rulers from Ihima District not to rest on their oars but step their advisory roles and ensure peace is maintained before, during and after the elections.
We seek the indulgence of the government to step up their efforts in securing the lives and property of the people as no individual or group no matter how highly placed should take the government for a ride.
Finally, we call on Ms Natasha Akpoti to call her thugs to order. We urge her not to plunge Ebiraland into violence through her actions and inciting utterances because the people deserve to live in peace even after elections.
