The Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has affirmed that the Federal Government under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has gone beyond promises to implementation as the resuscitation of Ajaokuta Steel Company was concerned.
He made this remark on Sunday in Idah, at the Civic Center within the palace premises of the Attah of Igala, HRH Dr. Micheal Ameh Oboni II, while on a planned visit to Kogi East region.
The Vice President Stated that the Ajokuta Steel Company has the tendency to create viable employment for the youth, which was one of the foremost plan of the President Buhari Next Level agenda.
The Vice President pointed out that the completion of the Warri – Itakpe rail line which would be test run in some few days were preparations towards the commencement of production activities in the steel company.
Professor Osinbajo also mentioned that Kogi East and the Igala land was famous for Cashew production, expressing that the Federal Government was willing to invest in the venture to ensure it’s economic viability.
The Vice President similarly revealed that this current administration have created Job opportunities on the platform of it various programmes.
He revealed that about 500,000 youths have benefited on the platform of the Npower programme, stating that the Administration have plans to increase this number to about one million youth.
On the forth coming election, Professor Osinbajo expressed confidence in the State and most especially the people of Kogi East in throwing their weights behind the All Progressive Congress (APC) at all levels.
He revealed that with what he has seen and heard, he was certain that they the people would massively vote President Muhammadu Buhari come February 16.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in his own remarks also affirmed that the revival of Ajaokuta Steel Company remained top priority to the Federal and State Government.
He stated that government at both levels were committed to ensuring that the company begins production for local and export purposes and further boast job availability for youths.
Governor Bello used the medium to assure the Vice President that the Igala region was for the All Progressive Congress (APC), emphasising that the APC was cruising to victory at the polls.
The Governor expressed that his administration has ensured fairness and equality in running the affairs of the State and the confirmation of such were the testaments of the day.
He however charged the people to deliver the region hundred percent for APC which would give him the confidence to approach the Federal Government for developmental purposes.
The Governor also pleaded with the people not to allow intimidation and fear devoid them of expressing their civil right, assuring that security operatives would be fully on ground to ensure their safety and security.
The Attah of Igala, HRH Dr. Micheal Ameh Oboni II expressed his gratitude to the Vice President for honouring the people of Igala land with his coming.
The Paramount ruler stated that one good turn deserved another promising that the people would empower president Buhari’s administration to do more.
He also promised that the people would stand by the Buhari led government come rain, come shine.
