In a spontaneous fit of rage, angry youths booed and stoned senator representing Kogi East, Atai Aidoko Ali in Idah on Friday.

Aidoko, the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was in Idah to consult with party stakeholders as preparation towards February general election.

Reporting the incident, Opaluwa Ugbede-Ojo Omera stated that the angry youths blocked the senator from entering late Dr. Steven Achema’s house and chased the lawmaker away with stones and bags of sachet water.

Opaluwa noted that the youths who are members of PDP could not hide their anger after sighting the Senator first the time since he was elected.

He added that youths without political party affiliation later joined in stoning the senator.

In his continued tour of Kogi East, Senator Aidoko visited Anyigba in Dekina local government area of Kogi State on Saturday but had to cut short his visit as angry youths booed him there.

The irate mob chased Aidoko out of Anyigba where he was holding meeting with some selected PDP leaders in Dekina LGA in Sani Dr Hook’s office along Ajegidi Beje junction where PDP Dekina was using as its temporary office.

The Angry youths stopped him from talking, accusing him of selfish interest. Some of the youths were shouting “Aidoko Ole”. The angry Senator had to run from the venue after the youth started throwing plastic chairs.

The Senator reportedly had come seriously under attacks for his poor performance while in the Senate and for his insistence on hijacking the party’s just concluded primaries.

For now, things seem to have gone bad for Senator Aidoko as he has been declared a personal non grata in the East by the youths.

The angry Senator, who feels unperturbed by the repeated rejections by his constituents, has however called for calm, promising to reach out to his constituency for forgiveness, with a call on the youths to make amends.
