A former Secretary to the State Government, Chief Shola Ojo has called on the electorate to vote for Senator Dino Melaye in the forthcoming general elections to ensure sustained advocacy against bad governance.

Shola Ojo, the Director General Dino Melaye Campaign Organization stated this at a meeting of PDP members held at Kotonkarfe to present the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates of the party in the forthcoming general election to the people.

The former SSG noted that a vote to return Senator Melaye to the red chamber is a vote that will help the people have a voice against oppressive leadership.

He stressed that if Senator Melaye is reelected, he will certainly sustain his struggle against the non-payment of salaries, lack of infrastructure development in the state and disallow continuous borrowing that has plunged the state into debt under the present administration.

Chief Shola Ojo, who represented Yagba Federal constituency in the House of Representatives between 1999 and 2003, stated that the first term mandate given to Senator Melaye has been justified.

He described the plot to deny the people the opportunity to have the voice of Senator Melaye heard in the red chamber as one geared towards suppressing their voice so as suppress him from challenging bad governance in the state.

Chief Shola Ojo said within the few years of the representation of Senator Melaye, the people can point to physical development and infrastructure the serving Senator has attracted to every town in the Senatorial district, adding that another term will enable him to consolidate on the successes recorded so far.

He called on the people of Kogi LGA to vote for the PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, pointing out that his aspiration is geared towards making Nigeria work again.

He described Atiku as having the requisite capacity to make the economy work, provide jobs, and improve the living standard of citizens.

Chief Shola Ojo described the sixteen year rule of the PDP as one that put the welfare of the people at heart, but lamented that poverty, hunger and decay in basic infrastructure is what has characterized the APC led federal administration in just a term in office.

He warned PDP members against selling their votes and charged them to vote for all candidates of the PDP in the forthcoming coming election.
