As the electoral umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) lifted ban on campaign activities ahead of 2019 general election, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Kogi Central Senatorial District, Alhaji Yakubu Oseni has called for issue-based campaigns.
This was contained in a recent press statement issued to newsmen in Lokoja by the Media and Publicity Unit of his campaign organisation.
While urging his would-be constituents to shun political aparthy occasioned by decades of misrepresentation which has diminished their trust, the candidate vowed to make palpable difference at the National Assembly when given the mandate.
“More than ever before, our people are demanding for good governance and not the mediocrity called youths empowerment where youths are given token when the real empowerment ought to be job creation.
“Our people are tired of representatives who romance with them during election and vanish for the next four years only to reappear at the election. They are equally tired of those they thought are vibrant during election only for them to be dormant when elected”, he said.
Alhaji Yakubu Oseni who said he has never been a mediocre right from when he was a student, banker and Executive Chairman of Kogi Internal Revenue Service (KIRS), assured the people of Kogi Central that as a grassroots politician, he would spare no effort to meet their demands when elected.
He urged the people to be more peace-loving and make haste to obtain their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) which he described as their weapon of electoral decision.
