Some political class/analyst has allowed personal and self centred interest to override the common interest of the generality of the people,and that tend to shape and reshape their mindset to the detriment of the political future of the people of Kogi East.
How on earth in fairness to the Peoples Democratic Party as a platform in the last close to two decades, the most graassroot movement that transformed to a political party that salvaged the country from the den of military dictatorship, and also played a prominent role in the polity for about 16 consecutive years, will be relegated to the background because of sheer individualistic ambition and tendencies of the people that had no direct bearing on the masses of Kogi East.
With all sense of maturity and political orientation, how on earth can we summed up that party primaries that other political parties have conceded including the ones mentioned to be ahead of PDP bereft of opinion polls, could be a template to tear apart a solid union built for more than two decades.
We are not been fair in our judgement and actions, no matter whose ox is gored to jettison PDP as a platform because an aspirant emerged against our wish,knowing fully well that all the aspirants or party candidates are subservient to the decision of the party at all times.
We have also forgotten briskly that aside the APC, the ruling party, all other party’s mentioned in the write up had a solidified memomradum of understanding with the PDP to cling to power at all levels, so Kogi state is not exception.
Not minding this arrangement, PDP as a political party and platform have left a legacy on the sands of time along with the supporters and candidates, that it is the preference of the people against the wishes of detractors and nay sayers.
Kogi Easterners, what on earth were the offences and the undoing of Kogi East senator, Atai Aidoko Ali in the last eight years as a senator and the previous eight years as members of the house of representatives?
Is it because he was the first federal lawmaker since the creation of Kogi state and the establishment of Kogi State University and other tertiary institutions to pay scholarships to the teeming Kogi East people in the schools, or rather to mute the idea of open defecation as inimical to the health of our people, by constructing a standard toilet facilities in urban areas of the Ankpa federal constituency and its environs?
It is on record also, even without media propaganda, how he had facilitated the citing of economically viable programs to Kogi East through SDGs by engaging our teeming unemployed youths through various programs of government intervention agency?
I have the strong believe that his offence is not bringing closer to various communities in Kogi East pipe borne water through construction of boreholes, donation of over 250 transformers to areas to assist the extension of electricity to those areas, and construction of many classroom blocks and skill acquisition centres to selected communities based on available resources?
Why all these political gang up all in the name of political alignment to the detriment of the people of Kogi East?
Are we saying that Kogi East Senator, Atai Aidoko Ali who had been a ranking senator by his status now, is regarded as an outcast of the Igala race that is not entitled to represent the good people of Kogi East basically because of his rising political profile and envisaged overriding advantage to the communities in Kogi East?
Who has done this to us, that somebody who glaringly possessed the wherewithal to occupy a position by virtue of experience is no longer needed for sheer reasons of bitter politics?
Are we not tired of the close to three years economic, political and social bastardisation of our common wealth to the detriment of the people of Kogi East by the group of people who masquerade themselves as messiahs and taken advantage of our pauperise communities to throw around peanuts as against the huge funds been siphoned on daily basis?
As long as there no answers to this questions, there is also no justification of the gang up against Kogi East senator not to return to the senate in the 9th Senate, if experience do count.
Senator Aidoko had come, conquered and delivered within his power and ability to make case for the people of Kogi East and deserve to be return to the Senate by the PDP supporters and other lovers of Kogi East.
A vote for any other party apart from PDP will mean one step forward and many step backward that our generations yet unborn will never forgive and condone, therefore senator Atai Aidoko is the man and PDP is the party.
