Lokoja-Kogi: Shaba Ibrahim Emerge Winner of PDP House of Reps Primaries

Former Kogi Local Government council chairman, Barr. Shaba Ibrahim has emerged the House of Representatives candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Lokoja-Kogi federal constituency.

Barr. Shaba polled 142 delegate votes to defeat the candidate of the party in the recently conducted bye-election, Engr. Bashi Abubakar Gegu.

Bashir garnered 49 votes, while Shaban Ohinohi got 33.

Announcing the result, the returning officer, Adegbayo Moshunmola Stanley, declared Shaba as the flagbearer of the PDP in forthcoming House of Representative election.

In an acceptance speech, Barr. Shaba said he is humbled by the show of love by his co contestants. He commended them for putting up a good fight.

He described the victory as that of the common good of the people of the federal constituency.

The legal practitioner promised effective representation that would improve the wellbeing of his constituents.

In his reaction, Engr. Bashiru Abubakar called on his supporters to accept the verdict as the will of God.

He pledged to work for the party’s success in the forthcoming polls.
